RemoteLift

You can use all of RemoteLift without an account, a name or an email address. We collect as little about you as we can, we never sell it, and we never use it for advertising.

Who we are

The company that will run RemoteLift is being registered. Its legal name and address will be added here as soon as it exists.

For anything about your data, use our report form and choose “A privacy request”.

If you have an account, you can download or delete everything in it yourself, on your account page.

What we collect when you browse

Your country. Our hosting provider works it out from your internet address and passes us only the country code (for example “ID” for Indonesia), so we can show pay in your money. We don’t store your internet address.
The choices you make: the country you pick, light or dark mode, and the skills and English level you pick on “What should I learn?”. They are saved in your own browser — see the cookie notice.
The language you pick, saved in your browser the same way.
A count of page views per country per day, to decide which countries’ jobs we check first. A count holds only a country and a date — nothing about who you are.
A count of taps on Apply and Sign up: which listing, your country, the date and the page you were on. No internet address, no browser details, no cookie.
Nothing else. Browsing needs no account, no name and no email, and there are no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics scripts. Anything more is collected only if you choose to use a feature that needs it.

Like every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) sees your internet address and basic browser details when it delivers a page, and keeps them in its logs for a limited time to run and protect the site. We don’t copy them into our own database.

Only if you use it

Email job alerts: Your email address, your country and the skills you choose. We email you once to confirm — a sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted after a week — and every alert has a one-click unsubscribe that deletes your sign-up.
Account: Your email address, the jobs you save, the skills you add and any profile details you give us. You sign in with a one-time link we email you — there is no password — and a sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. On your account page you can download or delete everything in your account, and “Sign out everywhere” ends every session. Email alerts are separate: stop them with the unsubscribe link in any alert.
Your CV: If you upload a CV, an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) reads its text once to find your skills. We keep only the skills and the sentence that shows each one — never the file or the rest of its text. We never use it to guess your age, gender, religion, ethnicity or marital status, and we ignore photos. It is never sent to Google Gemini.

Why we use it

To show you the page you asked for, in your money and your settings.
To keep the site running and safe from abuse.
To keep you signed in and remember what you save, if you have an account.
To send you something only if you asked for it (for example an email you signed up for). You can stop it at any time.

Where a law asks for a legal basis: showing the page you asked for and keeping it safe are our legitimate interests (and necessary to give you the service); anything you sign up for is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We never sell personal data. These companies work for us and only handle what they need to do that work:

Vercel: Hosts the website and delivers every page.
Neon: Hosts our database: job data, and everything this page says we keep on our side — for example reports sent through our form.
Google (Gemini): Reads the public text of job ads for us. Nothing about you is ever sent to it.
Resend: Sends the emails you ask for, such as job alerts and sign-in links.
Anthropic (Claude): Reads the text of a CV you upload, once, to find your skills (the Claude model). We keep only the skills and their sentences; the file is never stored.

When you tap Apply, you leave RemoteLift for the employer’s or platform’s own site, and their privacy policy applies there. The link tells them you came from RemoteLift (“ref=remotelift”) and carries nothing about you.

We would only hand over data if a law or a court required it.

Data outside your country

Most of the companies above are based in the United States and run servers in several countries, so data can be handled outside your country. Where your law requires it, we rely on the transfer safeguards those companies offer, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Your saved choices: Up to 1 year in your browser, or until you clear them.
Hosting logs: As long as our hosting provider keeps them — a limited time.
Reports you send us: Until we have dealt with them, and at most 12 months.
Tap and visit counts: As long as they are useful to us. They identify no one: only a country, a date and, for taps, the listing and the page.
Email alerts: Until you unsubscribe. A sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted after a week.
Your account: Until you delete it. Deleting it removes your saved jobs, skills and profile straight away.
Sign-in sessions and links: A session ends after 30 days or when you sign out. One-time sign-in links are deleted a day after they expire.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
correct it or delete it;
stop using it, or stop a use you agreed to earlier;
give it to you in a format you can take elsewhere.

If you have an account, you can do this yourself on your account page: download everything in it, or delete it all at once.

For anything else, use our report form and choose “A privacy request”. The form doesn’t ask for your email, so we can’t reply to it — tell us exactly what you want done. We act on requests within the time your law sets (for example, one month under the GDPR).

Because you can use RemoteLift without telling us who you are, we often hold nothing that identifies you. You can also complain to your country’s data protection authority.

Laws we follow

We follow the privacy laws of the places our visitors live. The main ones:

European Union and United Kingdom — GDPR and UK GDPR: Access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection. Complaints: your national data protection authority (UK: the ICO).
Brazil — LGPD (Law 13.709/2018): Confirmation that we process your data, access, correction, anonymisation or deletion, portability and who we share with. Complaints: the ANPD.
India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: Information about your data, correction and erasure, a way to raise a complaint, and naming someone to act for you. Complaints: the Data Protection Board of India, as its rules come into force.
Indonesia — Personal Data Protection Law (Law 27 of 2022): Information, access, correction, deletion, withdrawing consent and objecting to decisions made only by automated means. Complaints: the authority set up under the law.
Philippines — Data Privacy Act of 2012: To be informed, to access, object, correct, erase or block, and to data portability. Complaints: the National Privacy Commission.
Nigeria — Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023: Information, access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawing consent. Complaints: the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Kenya — Data Protection Act 2019: To be informed, to access, object, correct and delete. Complaints: the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

If your country isn’t listed, you get the same rights.

Children

RemoteLift is for people old enough to work. It isn’t meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect data about children.

Security

Every page is served over an encrypted connection, and we store as little as we can — the safest data is data we never collected. No system is perfectly safe; if a breach affected you, we would tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change affects data you gave us, we will tell you on the site first.
